Yeah I was about to say, I've seen the GZH live fire before, that thing flings rounds like crazy.

Well, it does autoload the charge into the breech...

but yeah, I can't help but wonder why they didn't figure out how to just automate it completely.

Think you have what it takes to enlist into the military? You sure about that?

The point of an automatic loading system is not always to shoot faster.

Well, that's the thing, there is an option for a fully automated system where the rounds coming throught a conveyer before being grabbed by the robot and all the charges needed for the volley are loaded at once. You can see it here : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=feAiof1-aLQ (if you look carefully, it's not the same truck).

It seems the Danish either prefered a semi-automatic system or just didn't demonstrate it.

Well, it doesn't exactly reduce crew requirements much in this case, so...

safety?

6 shells in a minute, with set-up time of about 1:50 seconds.

That's a modern artillery system! (Poor US Army...)

Wow, reading the comments...

what I'm assuming are Russians do not have very nice things to say about it. One comment in particular, by Google Translate, includes referring to some of the crew as "homo warriors."

Shocking, right?

Well, we almost had it once. And then we almost had it again.

And then we decided to get the M109 a nice new hull instead. It's a nice hull, but the gun itself was borderline obsolescent 25 years ago.

At least the M777 is the finest airmobile towed gun in the world?
