Well, you know, if they want to pit their skill against a Clemenceau-class carrier, your submariners will have to attack Brazil those days.

That thing hasn't been scrapped yet? Does it even work still?

The "Clem" (Clémenceau) was, but Brazil's only carrier is our old Foch renamed São Paulo.

Fade2Gray wrote:Does it even work still?

In December 2014 it was announced that São Paulo will be expected to continue active service until 2039, at which time the vessel will be nearly 80 years old. IHS Janes reported that during its career with the Brazilian Navy, São Paulo has suffered from servicability issues and has never managed to operate for more than three months at a time without the need for repairs and maintenance.

At the end of 2010, sea trials began, and as of 2011 the São Paulo had been evaluated by the CIASA (Inspection Commission and Training Advisory). She was expected to rejoin the fleet in late 2013, but suffered another major fire in 2012.[16] As of 2014 she is still undergoing repairs.

My comments about Brazil's floating scrap heap were prompted by this article actually.

Not so sure: your budget cuts are much more leathal to your armed forces than any foreign army or navy could.
Soon, there won't be anything British to sink ... :(

We are actually investing quite a large amount, the new Carriers are coming, new aircraft, new crowsnest helicopters and there is the new Type 26 GCS in the works too.

Britain and France could hold some pretty intense wargames if they wanted to ;)

Yeah, 2 carriers with F35s is quite an upgrade tbf.

Does Russia have 1 or 2 carriers? If it's only 1 then the UK gets to have the 2nd biggest carrier force in the world ;)
A brilliant plan from the dirtiest euro-hippie: get US players to pay me for a game that I then show them how much their military sucks so I can feel better about being a communist.

We would be speaking Russian right now, but that's a technicality ...
I wonder if the Royal Navy, or any Navy in the world, would ever have taken orders from a foreign nation, especially technically an ally pointing its guns at its back.

Good point but they did take orders from a foreign nation the Americans, but anyway the French fleet could have joined De Gaulle ( I have no idea if that is right spell check tried to change it to despite Paul) personally I love what if questions probably why I like wargame ( what if just a simple thing could have changed the world for better or worse)

Does Germany even fund their navy? Do they actually use their subs?

As surprising as it might be, yes, German Navy has four diesel-powered Type 212 submarines.
