Focus Home Interactive... On EA's level???

Postby jmpveg22 » Tue 10 Mar 2015 03:36

I was just reading reviews of Cities XXL (which was Focus's first foray into developing)... and wow. It got me thinking how much (as in a what %) of Eugens problems are Focused based? I'm not saying Eugen is not at all to blame for issues they encounter... as anyone that has been here long enough knows better than to even hint at that. But i do think that a Bad Publisher can really drag down a project... and perhaps Eugen got dragged down to Focus's level.

How much influence does Focus even have over RD anyway?

    Uninstall works fine.

You know, the idea of an aggressive publisher would explain some of the lack of polish on Red Dragon. Or perhaps the sense that Eugen wasn't fully committed to Red Dragon. Focus both wanted Red Dragon and Focus wanted AoA, so something, Red Dragon's sense of completeness, had to give.

What are the other games Focus published (not necessarily developed) and how did they do?

Bikes: The Publisher

It's like they are the "French EA"... they have their own yearly sports game line around the Tour de France. And dozens of bikes game all like each other. And then they have the city line of games they bought out... which seem to already to be taking a nosedive!

The coincidences and similarities are somewhat troubling...

A ton...Eugen might have dropped the ball in some people's eyes but those same people are not realizing that the ball is just part of a larger game...and Eugen didn't make the rules to that game.

It's business folks and the side with the money is the side with the power/control.

ps. EA are vampires who suck games/companies/devs/franchises dry and then toss them away. Do not even think to compare Focus with them...

The day Focus buy C&C and MoH rights and rape their souls once again, I will consider them equal to EA.
