US, EURO, Asian or African?!? cars?

Postby Mad22 » Sat 28 Mar 2015 16:12

I have had the luxury of driving a few of each. But the best 2 have been Chevrolet corvette and Porsche 911 neither my own both hire cars when I have had free upgrades for my "honeymoon" ;)

The 911 was technically the better car. Felt tighter certainly better built considerably better gearbox more finite steering in fact the better car in almost every way.
However God I loved the corvette. The rawness of it, the sound of the gorgeous v8 the sheer workmanlike engineering on it. Basically it gave me the feels. Can't explain but it made me buzz.

So despite the cheapness of the vette/US car it's the one I would choose.
What do you guys prefer?

Love Japanese especially the 80's and 90's ones...but cannot deny the superiority of Euro cars. Had a 190e and just loved it. VW is not really included in the list though as they really dropped the ball lately...

Not a lot of good to say about NA cars...and while the Vette is getting better and better each year, it's the exception, not the rule (it's also an +$80K car!)

I'm a BMW fanboy so I definitely go for Euro cars, as their cars cater best to an enthusiast. I definitely like the way American cars are going though - Tesla, Cadillac, Ford, and Dodge are all going in the right direction.

I really don't like Japanese cars as a whole. Just not my style; they take the fun out of driving. There's some exceptions though, Mazdas are generally nice cars for the price and I have to appreciate the GTR, WRX, and EVO.

Is Dodge finally moving away from unreliable trash? Ford and Chevy are great, but Dodge is something I always tell people to stay away from. Their ratings from CR have been trash for years, and I've heard far too many horror stories about them to boot.
