Japan returns to business

Postby Romiros » Fri 17 Jul 2015 19:29

Japan made a key step in expanding the powers of self-defense forces of the country. On Thursday, July 16 the lower house of Japan's parliament approved a package of amendments to the defense sector, which is the right to use military force abroad.

For the first time after the defeat of Japan in World War II defense forces were able to use the weapon in the event of military provocation and to protect friendly countries, even Japan itself is not under attack. Also removed the ban on the use of weapons by the Japanese military during operations in the UN force.

About China,if they want to, they could easily shut down japanese economy just by trade embargo all the essential metal they need.
They almost did it last year i think, or the year before.. cant remember which year now..

Way overdue.

TBH, the export restriction cancellations that go along with this don't really seem like a big deal to me. There's some stuff that will sell- flying boats, submarines- but most Japanese military gear is much more expensive than equivalent gear from other nations.

I won't count on the Type 10 hordes showing up anytime soon.

So no budget surplus again this year and the Japanese pension funds have to put another lump sum of state debt on their books.

Budget surplus? They are in huge debt already, worse than usa when they compare their GDP with their debt

Also , growing population and low birth rate, no immigration policy

They can't really do much in the military except upgrade their gear, they can't really expand
