But what will you do if you ever need to deal with chained 3 dimensional rotations? I suppose you could do matrix transforms but that's so many computations to keep track of.

This is why I have a dual channel dashcam, so in case a PAX flips the fuck out on me I don't have to pull out my phone to record things, it simply is already being recorded from the get go. Congrats to the driver for handling such an obvious nutter, spoiled brat, and all around fucking cunt. Also, I'm amazed that Uber actually punished the PAX for once, usually any complaint is lopsided against the driver big time.
