A country of 300 million accepting the same mount of refugees as a country of 5 million is pretty laughable, especially when it's the said country who went around bombing the shit out of these places and arming sides in the civil war that ensued after.

What's laughable about it? We don't *have* to accept anybody. The Atlantic Ocean means they aren't right on our doorstep unlike the case with our southern border.

Meh, no matter what we do people bitch about it. This time we ought to just sit back and let the Russians take a shot at sorting this mess out. Things suck for the majority of refugees but are we expected to feel some sort of national guilt over this which necessitates some quota depending on the size of our population? Given how terribly we handle our current immigration situation I'd be very surprised if we don't manage to screw this one up.

You can the US for Iraq and Libya, However I seem to recall being the EU being the one to go drum up bombing Libya. Also Iran was the UK's mess wanting to hold on to those oil fields. We also didn't put a drunkard incharge to go randomly draw borders as part of the dismantling of the Ottoman Empire. ISIS and those lot would be put down like a mad dog if the Arab League was willing to fight and did so in a remotely competent manner. But no, lets just bitch about how the USA caused all of the problems that have ever occurred in the Middle East while ignoring the role Europe had in the mess or the role the Arab states themselves have had.

If only we had the wisdom of Europe. They sure know when to intervene, just look how well Libya turned out.

You know, if people would spend the energy they put into pointing the finger elsewhere into just admitting the fuckups they caused and learning from it, we might actually see progress. Oh well, not that surprising of a response. Best part? Acting like the Arab League should do more about ISIS, when they are probably using ISIS to try to curb Iran's growing influence.

How did Iran get that influence? Oh yeah, Murika's total disaster in Iraq, that Darth desperately tries to downplay. The USA pretty much handed Iraq to Iran on a silver platter. Heaven forbid that the evidence is a landslide that points at Murika and GOP shenanigans.

Yeah it was the "EU" drumming to go after Gaddafi as well, in the sense of the EU consisting of the UK and France, and I hold those 2 equally responsible and think they should be taking in every single boat filled to the brim with people instead of Hungary or Greece who largely had jack all to do with the whole ordeal.

Also let's face it those 2 would've probably gotten their asses kicked by Libya had the US not been guiding them every step of the way like a proud daddy watching his daughter take on her first tricycle ride. The European militaries post 90's have been systematically decimated and de facto vassalized to US and with many of the militaries missing entire fields of capabilities mandatory for a conventional military. It might've been UK pilots firing the brimstones at static tanks, but it was US providing probably in excess of 90% of the intel and logistics, and a safe environment for the daughter to ride her bike on.
