France goes to the far right
Re: France goes to the far right
High-school-level joke.
You should have a look first at what was the Vichy gov before, and who were in it. You would be amazed by the number of far-right politicians (just in order to help you, there was just a couple, the others were civilians (bankers and syndicalists), military people with souverainist sensibilities, and center-left or right. And Pétain himself was center-right, while Laval center-left.)

I might be an egoist (and I won't start a debate here) but frankly I don't care anymore, I'll go and vote blank next Sunday. I'm tired of the politics in my country and Frankly I understand people who voted FN (even if I would never do it). But it seems our politicians will never understand (or will never acknowledge it) that tackling people's problem is what will jam the vote for the far-right and not by making stupid alliances which will only infuriate people who voted FN as they are treated as people which don't know what is good for you and the fact that it's strategy to oppose the choice of the majority of the voters.

Stricly speaking and since FN didn't win any State (Région) after the first round, FN isn't the choice of the majority of the voters. It is just the first party in percent but they actually haven't a majority for them (yet...)

Indeed about the alliances, I don't really understand why PS is taking out their lists. IIRC the président de région is elected afterwards by the conseillers. It's stupid to take out socialist conseillers...

Put in a two year perspective, it give hints about some of the rhetoric the PS will use for the presidential election against the right and the far-right.

How far right are they actually? You don't get to know too much about them on the news here.

Re: France goes to the far right
Imagine everything far-right (monarchists, ultraliberalists, war vets, racists, skinheads, anti-elite, anti-immigration...), put it whole in a family business founded by the grandfather, ruled by the daughter, with her concubine and the grand-daughter sitting in the ruling commitee. Add in complaisance toward jews and homosexuals. And you have the Front national, a rampant contradiction without any hint of ideology.
