As a guy who has shot a few rabbits and rats at close range with a 12bore 2/3inch 36g I have no doubt what a 7.62 would do.
Once shot a rat hiding under a crate lifted the crate up with a shovel poked the gun under and bang wrist was a bit sore but the rat was splattered over a large area
