Storming of a beach as a sign of oppression? It looks even more oppressive than a male puppy in the eyes of a SJW.

It's probably like the knife attack in Australia last year. Not a direct affiliate, but a loon spurred on by Jihadi propaganda.

Too be honest, it shows how desperate ISIS is starting to become, they've gone from systematic attacks, targeted assassinations and even genocide of entire towns to "Kill some dude on a street." Goes to show they are now doing everything they can just to get their name out now...

Gestapo, SOL and milice sure obtained some decent result in France

Correct me if I'm wrong but all this kind of organisations did not have the mission to stay in front of the same buildings all day long waiting for an hypothetical attack. They did "search and destroy" type of actions. I mean something that had more to do with the french paratroopers' action during the battle of Algiers.

Today, we put soldiers in a static stance in areas we think are the most obvious targets, when this is not at all what they are trained for and when it is other people's job (policemen and private security companies).

I think it is more effective to focus on intelligence and investigation, while directly engaging their middle-eastern motherbase with the ALAT. Just like we did in Libya.

It was "dystopian" view of how some politics will one day dare to present it...
I think like you it's useless to have soldiers on patrol in the street.

The national holiday is to celebrate the "Fête de la Fédération", not the storming of Bastille (althought the same date).

Can we also puke over various so-called "Cartels" in south america? It's beyond me how many aren't "terrorists" simply "criminals". The body count, blatant civil warring, constant targeting of state institutions and all murder the civies they pull certainly puts them at "let's compare to Al-Kebab, I mean shabab".

Quite cute how they run in circles with Christian iconography and bull practice..

The MinDef has asked —and obtained— a dynamic MO for SENTINELLE. While it would be incredibly difficult to measure the compared efficiency of the static and dynamic stances, perceived output is about the same.

If the Nice attacker had radicalized himself, he has done so in a very short amount of time. The fact that we still have no kind of revendication speaks volumes.
It's much more likely that a frustrated individual borrowed a couple lines from daesh's playbook and decided to end his life with a bang. It's a copycat effect. In this, it's more comparable to the GermanWIngs crash than to the Paris attacks.

So the question becomes : besides terrorism, how can we also work to prevent other suicidal maniacs from becoming mass murderers ? We can't possibly think about and prevent every new type of mass murder. What do ?

Seems I was right. It's an Islamist terror attack, Daesh just claimed responsibility today through AMAQ tweet.
