Starting this as Cold War 3.0 thread tone doesnt quite encompass all interesting subjects

looks like Portugal man will win UN Secretary General election. Ban Ki Moon is expected to join ROK presidential race when he gets out, he has the highest poll numbers right now.

Not surprising, though it could be interesting. Hopefully Moon is far more assertive toward North Korea than he has been in the past. The last thing South Korea needs now is a limp-wristed sissy, and I haven't seen much out of him that suggests he won't pull his pants down and bend over for Kim Jung-un the second he gets the chance.

Putin won the Hugo Chavez peace prize.

What can I even add to make it funnier ?
Ah, yes, it's actually the "Hugo Chavez price for peace and sovereignty".

Chavez really deserves his own UN Funny Speech prize or Talk Show prize tough, that'd be legit.

Damn I miss his shenanigans so much. But you need to understand Spanish pretty well to appreciate his campy populist rhetoric to it's fullest
