Soviet/Russian and Chinese military land and air vehicles

Postby eddievanhalen1 » Tue 3 Oct 2017 23:56

Does anyone know where to find an accurate list of characteristics of Soviet and Chinese vehicles with statistics and characteristics? Not necessarily with "stabilization" and whatnot such as what is found in wargame, but primarily with statistics pertaining to:
Weapons,
"autonomy" or the distance it can cover without refuel
armor thickness
number of passengers
EWAR capabilities (such as the new Russian Armata)

Or something along these lines?
I've heard good things about Jane's fighting vehicles. Any opinions?

Thank you in advance.

I've had limited success with google translating Russian and Chinese wiki, although obviously wiki itself has its limitations you can also follow the source links to get more information. It's not perfect but it is free.

Might be a good start for aircraft.
Then again remember it's not 1:1 accurate, a serious game is still a game.

Thanks for the replies.

I've had success with lists on globalsecurity.org
It requires a monthly fee so I'm not sure how long I'll use it. However, cross referencing it with Wikipedia seems to be working pretty well. They have lists of weapons used on vehicles, vehicles themselves, etc.
I couldn't find any copies of Jane's [soviet vehicles] in PDF so gave up on that.

Not promoting, just where I've found success for the question.

Cheers.

Alright, I didn't tell you this because I'm pretty sure I owe those guys hundreds of thousands of dollars, but you can open Global Security in a private window and it'll zero the number of free articles you can look at per month.
