This will be thread about good war movies. Oldschool war movies.
Let's start from 1955 To Hell and Back

Classic and realistic movie about Audie Murphy, simple boy from Texas. He was 17 when we goes to army, he had 50 kilo of weight, about 165 sm of tall and balls of steel. He get 33 US war awards, including Medal of Congress and 3 Purple hearts. 5 French and 1 Belgium medals. In this movie he playing himself and this is good movie about good man and his friends (mostly about his friends), you should watch it.

Pretty much follows some Germans through Stalingrad. Quite a brutal movie, and shows how the Germans went in with a superior fighting spirit and were quickly snuffed out due to the dreadful nature of street fighting. Features warcrimes aplenty. Seems relatively unbiased from what I recall, as each side takes horrific casualties.

No Pearl Harbor either, so the list has that going for it.

I was just impressed they had non-American (and non-Western) movies. And by "Western" I mean "from a Western country" not "takes place in the American Old West").

What was nice was that they did an overview of each movie, not only about why it was a great war movie, but also the weaknesses of it.
