Scheduling for a Sunday or Saturday doesn't really help most people either in the US, as we're primarily a service industry orientated country. It would probably be something which is better to fit in to a daily schedule with varying times.

You honestly work on weekends in the U.S.? The only ones even allowed to do that here are restaurants and some supermarkets at airports/train stations (with double the payment of a normal day though, that's why Sunday is one of the days where you'll see a lot of policemen on the streets). Well, back to topic tough.

Oh YES! Americans work around the clock. The buffalo hunters are busy following the herds and keeping the Indians on the reservations while others keep the Irish and Chinese working on the continental railroad. ;)

According to most stats, about 35% of Americans work on weekends, including folks (like me) who will sometimes go into the office to get extra stuff done. Keep in mind that virtually every retail establishment in the US is open on weekends, so that's alot of folks.

Updated with a bit more detail. We won't be doing battles with preplanned tactics like suggested earlier, but that could be done in some future community events. Maybe a combined new players night + war of nations + old gamers night?

Event has just started, with 2 games already going. The TS server experienced a little hiccup but is now back online again.

It was a pleasure to initiate you to the joy of the cold war gone hot.

Play, learn, and more importantly:

"Have fun"

Sometime save and watch the replay, it can be interesting to spot error and blunders who works.
In the last game, on the quiet front, I haven't attack, my recon spot a Rarden in a forest and I feared an encounter with more troops so I wait to have more units.
The Rarden encounter 6 T-72, 2 Praga and 4 MOT.-SCHUTZEN in BMP-1, a bit of overkill....

Don't worry about loosing, but learn from your error, don't hesitate, and hit the enemy where it's hurting, the balls...

Hunt CV, counterbattery mortar with Dana, lock town with cheap infantry to force your opponent to lose time cleaning them....

and Have fun.

It was a pleasure to participate, have a good night everyone.

It was ...
They took the bullets, the French Foreign Legion took the village and the glory. That's what I call French-British "Entente Cordiale" working at its best ...

I'm jelly. Had already started working long before you guys started, and as it turns out, my relief had actually asked for the day off.

I hope this sort of thing continues on so I can drag more people into the game!

We had quite fun games as well, mixing people both old and new. Here's the replay of our game on Dual Field:
