Empty APCs are OP

Postby TheWord » Wed 8 Aug 2012 20:05

NO, JUST THINK ABOUT IT FIRST.

Ok so APCs waste so much ATGMs for so little money that they are practically worth getting just for that. So much supply is eaten up that it's actually a great investment.

Secondly, they have 10 health and most have a HMG or an MG. ONE of these APCs that slip through the net can easily chase down important supply vehicles and commands. Given their HMG range and speed (VAB) they can actually run down and panic choppers easily, making it almost impossible to deal with these that get behind your lines.

And last but not least, they give LoS without being any risk. They make counterarty too easy and camping a viable option, which is really bad for gameplay.

Way too true.

What should be done IMO is to at least remove this 10 HP so we don't see this idiotic APC rush with little to no tank support. Nerf all the wheeled APCs to 5-7 HP I'd say.
BECAUSE HUNTING CHALLENGERS WITH MIG-31S WAS TOO EASY :

I have TOPAS in my deck. That says a lot.

*cough* balance the meta *cough*

Just sayin' 'cause it would give tanks enough free range to actually be responsive over anything that an ATGM shouldn't target.

OP is maybe not quite the term I'd use, but they are very, very cheesy and gamey.

I guess we won't have this changed though as long as units are perfectly happy to listen to utterly suicidal orders. At the end of the day it's just a game.

I'm imagining Cygnus on a surfboard riding a wave of VAB's right now, honestly.

Too costly, sarachens are the way to go.
Too bad NATO doesn't have an APC like the TOPAS. Comes with 10 HP, decent speed, costs 5 and even has 1 front armor to boot.

I use empty APCs as cheap, rear, anti-helo-spam air defense.
