Pre traumatic stress disorder?

Is one of the most annoying thing infantry can do, running out of cover even when they are calm. That or how 34 panicked motostrelki run away of 4 panicked deltas and while deltas were panicked they still were firing against my 34 routing motostrelki and killed them all. They were the only units in a forest...

Units run away when they are engaged and cannot fire back. It seems the moral damage are taken into account in that behaviour or something like that.
So if your tropps take area of effect and cannot see/shoot hte target they flee from their position.

I'm not 100% sure of the cause but it's clear it's something that shouldn't happen all the time.
A unit in cover should never leave it to go in the open unless it is routing.

My impression they run when they get fired on by something they can't see, not including arty. One of those many flawed automatism. Worst I had so far were a couple of non recon inf guarding my cv in a forest, enemy recon inf advanced in and fired before they could spot them. Mine ran calm away leaving the cv unprotected for the enemy to pick up. A very embarrassing and enraging moment.

last night i noticed that infantry also are morale damaged when ATGM's cross close to them
i had a tree line with

-----ptur konkurs----------x2 T-80---------ptur konkurs--------

when ATGM's missed those T-80s both ptur konkurs teams where worried and started to run away being discovered.... in fact, both t-80 also worried, ran away too. the atgm's were fired before they got cover, and when entered in cover atgm's missed and happened this.

Yeah the amount of random panic in this game can be damn frustrating, not even the ww2 Italian army or some rear echelon cooks ran as fast as most units in this game.

Peasants in total war or basic training poor morale units in Close combat games dont flee that fast.

Hahaha +1 man you couldn't get it better.

Random fusilier: "Oh look 10 of us lads are nicely placed in the housing area with excellent cover.... what is that? 30 drafted motostrelki conscripts that can't shoot straight advancing through open towards us... We better run into the open lads, where couple of tanks are waiting to shred us to pieces since they can't harm us in town!!!

What troubles me is if you check their morale, they aren't even panicked and can be walking around calmly, even with no hits on them.
Illegitimi non carborundum.
