Mi-9 price

Postby derpcannon BG » Mon 16 Apr 2012 08:45

Mi-9 costs 85pts
Gazelle AH.1 has superior range and speed and size yet costs 80pts. Does this make sense? Why is a inferior recon helicopter more expensive?
The price of the Mi-9 should be around 70-75 points.

I really wish I had another option besides the MI-9... Even if I had to pay more.

It is so slow(changing direction mainly/pulling it back) and due to its size, AA missiles have no problem hitting it.

Yeah, but one missile won't kill it and it isn't too rare that my Mi-9 is hit by a Chaparral yet manages to escape. Given it'll go down most times, but the Gazelle will go down every time.

Mi-9 pros and cons:
Big (a gazelle will see the Mi-9 before the Mi-9 will see the gazelle)
Slow (300 is still acceptable)
Sturdy (survives a few hits when a gazelle dies at a fart)
For 5 points more, you get a less discreet helo that won't give your enemy free points when it is seen.

FACTIONS AREN'T MIRRORS as said above.

Also, remember that PACT has access to the only LAND recon with exceptional sights.

You don't see the point. Let me try to explain this another way.

The 5 pts price difference is due to the fact that Mi-9 has 10 HP, allowing him to survive 1 or even 2 shots from NATO SAM AA. Gazelle can't survive a hit from KUB or Tunguska (5/6 HE)

If you don't like it then go for the Mi-2 URN that has worse optics but costs less than a Gazelle SNEB with rocket pods and it's better armed.

Mum said 'You can't put a price on health'.

Or wait, maybe you can.
Evidently a 10 health point Big helicopter with Exceptional optics = 85pts
While a 5 health point Normal sized helicopter with Exceptional optics = 80pts.

Turns out Mum was wrong about the easter bunny, the tooth fairy & the Mi9  Still, at least there is still christmas to look forward too...
