Oh, finally, a beta as a pre-order bonus?
so, there's little chance we can get a HAT for pre-ordering the game?

I guess it might be based on Eugen's experience with RUSE. When that was released there were some pretty large holes in the netcode meaning it was region locked. People in Europe couldn't seem games made by people in North America, for example. Calling it a "beta" means they can justify any teething problems a little more easily.

Anyway, looking forward to it! Rather worried still about one of the changes MadMat posted up, but optimistic they'll have fixed a large chunk of the balance problems we saw in the proper beta. Not that there were that many, but they were there.

Hi guys,

We know that this choice may not gladden some of you, but it had seemed the best to us. It was a good way for us to insure that players in this beta would be involved in the game, and would help us finalize the last little things we want on Wargame: European Escalation. We know "limiting" this to players who preorder the game in the official shop or via Steam may "cut" some players from the beta. But is was the best way for us to organize this beta.

We did not do it to penalize players and fans of RTS, but because it seemed to us to best thing to do to give the best possible game to you.

We are really sorry that it does not fit all of your expectations... but we hope that in the end we will all agree that it was a good thing.

I think it is a reasonable business decision, and I look forward to placing my ore-order!

I think we should all stop calling it the Eugen time...

I mean we've allready got: Blizzard time, Valve time, etc...

Don't you see the patern?

It's video game developer time

well some devs do it the other way - they release the game on time, but you sort of need patches... i mean i am completely fine with some delays, as far as the issues are solved. although you can make the updated unit models into a free dlc i suppose.
