I can't say I did either. I was voicing my partner's concern. As best as I can tell, he was worried we had to sign up for 2v2 as an individual, which would suck because you'd be playing against a pre-made.

Anyways, that works then. Add me to the 2v2 list too with AustrianOak. Might as well try every avenue.
