I just found this in the red dragon directory:

That's something we introduce with Red Dragon but that cannot be in WALB because it creates too many side effects.
The use of helicopters as mobile FOB increase their interest a lot, and also reduce the interest of the FOB so we'll certainly compensate with more/cheaper supply for the FOB (or less for the choppers  )

Hopefully a dev can answer on this one to confirm it.
It is something allot of people have talked about for some times in all the wargame games.
And it will really help allot and add in new tactics.

Msta has 30 round ready magazine and fires 20 round volleys? That seems incongruous.

Normally?
I've found that units making it about 75% from one side of the map to the otehr will usually run out of fuel, at least on the 38th parallel map. I've not seen many breakthroughs on the others.

A lot of unit's autonomy is too low I think. Japanese units in particular seem to run low on gas just as they reach the front line, leaving pretty much no room for maneuver.
