XP Points to unblock Units

Postby Guddi » Sun 23 Mar 2014 12:30

I would like to see as it was in the first part of Wargame XP Points to unlock Uniots. For some reasons a good idea.

First of all the cheap Units will get a Focus and not only the mighty Lecrec or Abrahams or T80U etc. Also the cheap Airforce

would be used. Reaching a new Level should bring then new Units to the Players Deck. So in the real heavy Units should be

possible then in the last step of XP Points. After many many games. I know that a hughe amount of Players would cry ...I WANT MY T80 or

I want MY LEO 2A4 ....but that should be needed many games for it AND many WINS needed, then for losses the XP Charge should be verry verry

limited.

This System would also prevent Players from Spaming because of the few amount of Units that would be possible in the start.

Eugene think about it!!!!!

They did. And they said no. It was brought up countless times.

Major downside to this is that those who got unlocked everything will pummel to death those who don't. And the newbies will spend X time grinding XP to unlock units while repeatedly getting slapped across the face every match. It's hardly fun and even further alienates potential playerbase.

This has been brought up way too many times. Unit unlocks are, by all accounts BAD. They only serve to cover up bad gameplay by dangling a carrot in front of the player... forcing them to keep playing for that next unlock.

That is not what Wargame is any more. The game now focuses on the emergent gameplay that comes from creating, testing, sharing, and discussing deck configurations, and my god does it work well. What is the point of having 1400+ units when 90% of players wouldn't ever be able to unlock more than 10?

Eugen has ditched the unlocks, and it was the best decision they have made for the series. Bringing them back would be a step backwards and would only enrage most of the core players.

I didn't play European escalation because of this. People with less time on their hands or players who join later are at a disadvantage. Not to mention, I don't want to have to work hours upon hours to use units in a game I bought.

This kind of suggestion is usually from someone who plays a lot and would like an advantage.

1500 units?

Unlock system?

You insane?
A brilliant plan from the dirtiest euro-hippie: get US players to pay me for a game that I then show them how much their military sucks so I can feel better about being a communist.
