No excuses. Only victory.

Nobody expects the Swedes.

Good show.

Seems like relatively low points game, pact is quite weak at those in general because lack of blobs makes airpower truly ridiculous.

This video is very suspicious.

The Russians are not blobbing, and you have 20+ gunboats even though the card limit would put you at 12 Rookies. Which suggests to me that you had special circumstances going on that favoured your tactic, such as this being a low points game that made it difficult for Pact to blob, and having a second player give you extra gunboats, both circumstances that are unlikely in your average naval battle.

I have rushed Russian blobs with 12 gunboats and, while the gunboats´ capabilities are impressive, they are nowhere near this good. They are fast, relatively tough and will definitely sink more boats than your average NATO tactic, but they will not give you victory.

A tactic I intend to test is using the gunboats, together with planes, to find and destroy the Pact´s supply ships. That seems to be about the only weakness you can exploit against the Pact. If you can kill the supply ships, they cannot repair and rearm, and most Pact players do not bother escorting them.

Wintermote wrote:Meta right now is: NATO wins so long as they cheese it out with CF-18 and Superhornet spam accompanied with ATGM riverboat rushes.

The best unit to use as a counter against ATGM riverboats is probably the Shainghai on PACT. NOT Tarantuls and Nanushkas. (wtf?)

Well, I have a replay where they tried that on us and it failed miserably. They also used massively smoke from those mortar CV, it was brilliant.

So yes, you are indeed onto something but the force you attacked was a rather poorly picked and deployed group.
Redforce dominates sea so outrageously right now that if you want to maximize their strength you'll never by any plane whatsoever. They would be meaningless. Helicopters also verge on anecdotal.

So I'd say please try the following thing :
- try to optimize your deck even more (if possible) to suit this strategy of yours
- pick opponents which are going to go the boat-only way (again composition of said group might be subject to much tweaking)
- play the battle

If your strategy is still successful after several iterations (time needed to enhance the composition of the red deck). congratulation, you have discovered a lame. The game needs a fix.
If your strategy fails (and if it does it will do utterly as it's a all-in), then you'll have just confirmed that redfoce navy is really too strong and the game needs some tweaking too.

So either way it goes it will help getting a better balance. ;)

Last night myself and a pal ran "Another D Day in Paradise" 5 times playing as BLUFOR using the STRB 90 H as our primary naval vessel, mixed with some anti-ship helos and planes. We mopped the floor with REDFOR 4/5 times. Our one loss was frankly because we got greedy and reckless. These little boats are the perfect counter to REDFOR OP naval units.

Hey, you can talk all you want, act like know-it-alls all you want. I have actual gameplay video showing that REDFOR doesn't have a chance against ATGM spam.

So should I show one where they kicked the asses of my boats because had the escorts what were mentioned here...?

Honestly, you can talk about "escorts" all you like, who cares. A small rivierine craft shouldn't be able to survive several direct hits from the main gun of a destroyer. Ship guns are pathetically weak right now.

Exactly. I've seen many people asking for a buff to naval guns but people are arguing it'll make them more op. On topic, that was pretty cool.

I agree but in this case put the same questions on bigger ship vs. tank guns. Can you guess what happen if 3-4 tanks started to fire and gain several hits on destroyers...? In WG world even 150 CP categroy ships can deal at least 4 med tank from the best with best armor and firepower. (For ex. Chieftain Mk.10.) The ships shiply have too many HP and to big armor in WG with very low price counting their capabilites...
