Soviet Ka-52 Stealth reduce

Postby Scharnberg » Tue 29 Apr 2014 21:33

Critique of the stealth reduce on Ka-52 from good to medium.

- Soviet Ka-52 Stealth reduced from Good to Medium as the Ka-50.

Ka-50 Black Shark:
For its own protection, Black Shark is fitted with a radar warning receiver, electronic warfare system and chaff and flare dispenser.

Ka-52 Alligator:
The Alligator is equipped with rejecters of heat and radar misleading targets. The rejecters are placed in aerodynamic containers fitted at wings’ ends. Each casing (container) contains two rejecters for 32 misleading 26mm calibre targets each. The whole system works on principle of evaluated response based on infrared or electronic impulse irradiation.

While im all in all is okay with the nerf of the stealth of the Ka-52 since its kinda out of Red Dragon timeframe, and it has to be suspected that the russian gear of the end of the Cold war proberly was abit lagging compared to gloryfired soviet reports. I at least hope since you brought it in as a prototype have given it a Little bit better stealth than the Ka-50 because If you look at them after they went into production the Ka-52 has better anti-sam features.

Flares/chaffs does not=Stealth, throwing hundreds of detectable signals in the sky IS NOT STEALTH, the fact is neither should have any stealth
sorry for my temper but seeing this so many times has agitated me

Stealth and countermeasures are not the same thing.
If there's two kinds of players, those that like challenges and those that want a fair game, pubstomps should make everyone happy.

All choppers should have medium stealth to simulate NOE flight. That is the only way chopper can hide from radar.

Except it actually did have stealth features from what I've heard... not just black paint

tiger is small and mostly carbon fiber, that and it has some sort of apparently stealthy features when it comes to IR/Acoustic stealth which are really what matters for helicopters because you can't really make a rotor set that stealthy to radar from all angles. Of course I don't know exactly what makes the tiger stealthy but most literature on the web seems to think it is stealthy to some degree.
Projectnordic in game! will likely see you on pact/red dragons/french!

Have you actually tried it in game? I'm willing to bet if they didn't mention this in the patch notes, no one would have even noticed.

This. If it can fly without rotor spinning then it will get radar stealth.

We should also gib late Mi-24 stealth. It had devices to limit infrared signature as well. All just be reasonable and simulate NOE ie something what every chopper was doing to be stealthy.
