Here is a novel idea.
Increase ALL radar AA range by 3x vs planes.
Increase SEAD range by 3x.
Increase Aircraft-borne AA missiles range by 2x vs other planes.
SPAAG range stays the same.
Bombs, ATGMs, napalm, keep their ranges.
Suddenly, its a lot more interesting to play. No more throw-away helo rushes or suicide bombers. Dog fights and air superiority becomes realistic. SEAD takes front-line role.
Suddenly, taking out / establishing that AA umbrella becomes all-important.

So much wrong with this... Buks and ihawks will reach across the map, bombers will be totally useless, not to mention SPAAGs are already garbage so why nerf them even more????

The feasibility ofrealistic SAM ranges would at least be good to try in a mod. May even have been done! The realism fiend in me would love to see this

So A2A missiles and RAD missiles seem to have logical increments. Just bumping up all the weapons by 1 increment (except for mig31/tomcat because that would result in bad gameplay) will work well. For example a 5600 range weapon by 700 and the 6300 range by 700 to 7k would completely change the game and end a lot of the issues with the gripes about non ASF airplanes.
Having things fire acrossed half the maps to auto kill things would not be good gameplay. Remember, the game is scaled.

While the max range on missiles are pretty short in game so is the actuall hit rate too high. Missiles can make high G turns, but they also go very fast so their actual turning radius is much larger then for planes and can thus be dodged. And some missiles have such long range that there is plenty of time to land a plane, park in a bomb shelter, take a cup of tea etc before it arrives.
The ranges in game isn't that far off from effective combat range of missiles.

Is AA balance flavor of the week? Does one notice two threads already brimming with comments and think, "Dang, I want in on this."
I think your idea is bad. For a bomber to hit the front line of an enemy with a range of 3500m they would have to fly through 4500*3=13500m range.
Can you imagine any bomber getting through ever? You could buy a trio of hawk's and stick them 5000m behind the front and only have to watch for SEAD and arty while simultaneously cover half the map in AA coverage.

BTW it would be good if you used more precisley the acronyms becase at first sight it was seemed that you recommneded increase the range of radar aimed AAA guns.
If you increase all radar SAM simply the abstraction would be very idiotic becase the ratio between range radar and IR SHORAD system become totally wrong... Not mentioning if you allow the range incrase for ship based radar guided SAMs. Ships even in current state are way too powerful as mobile SAMs...
As I see most of people who post recommendation and suggestion have 0 idea about what can cause their idea, how can harm the gamebalance and how their ideas would crush the abstraction of WG.
