Uh, no. The T-80BV is in a very poor place. If you're looking for a gun tank, the T-64BV1 costs the same and has the same availability but has higher AP. If you're looking for a missile tank the T-80A again has the same availability but costs less and has an ATGM that is superior in every way. I haven't seen a T-80BV since ALB.

But the BV gives the best of both worlds. The AP is only 1 difference, so again feels like a fair trade off to loose 1 ap and gain an atgm.

Edit: So just looked at the T-80A's stats, and what if this had a price increase to 125, so then you'd be paying more for the refleks atgm carrier?

Honestly if you want the best of both worlds you just take a T64BV.
For 10 points more you get 1 more AP (making it able to challenge higher tier heavies) and a good atgm. Kobra is awful I'll take an agona any day of the week. Besides, why would you pay the same price as a T64 BV1 to get worse stats in all the important categories? In exchange you get.... an atgm that you can get on a T64B for 75 points.

1 AP is a pretty big deal.

Considering that the primary BLUEFOR tanks you will want to fight with a 120 point tank have 17 or 19 armor?

1 AP is a hell of a difference.

If one AP is one hell of a difference, then the challenger 1 is no problem, right ?

BV has the problem that there are 3 different "high end" tank lines for the USSR, and it's got to compete against them and doesn't stack up very well.

The challenger 1 has armor.T80bv has nothing.
How can anyone play to a faction's strength if the major flavour of that faction is overpriced units in every category?

The Mk. I is indeed no problem for the T-64BV1.
But a huge problem for the T-80BV.

That is how bad it is, it can not even challenge a challenger.

That's a completely fair point as well. I guess it boils down to do I want that ATGM to get the one extra hit on them before I get into gun range, so my 1 less ap gun still does a similair amount of work to the BV1.

For me atgm on a 100+ point tank looks like this:
Advantages:
+It can deal damage before enemy will have you in his range
+You can make it fire when the tank is reloading it's main gun...
Disadvantages:
-...but in order to do that you have to micro it
-if it kills empty apc it's a wasted missile
-if you'll lose line of sight, it'll miss
-you don't really have a lot of them
-resupplying is costly
-it usually means tank will cost that 5-10 points more
