MAP DLC

Postby slugget2000 » Sat 22 Nov 2014 05:16

our beloved game is loosing players. To bring back and find new players Eugene could do like a number of other games bring out say a 12 map dlc to save costs make it available to Steam only. I would certainly pay say $0 to 50 dollars. It is the lack of new maps ,i believe that is the main reason players are leaving. Please do not let this great game die when a few paid for maps would save it

There are plenty of interesting maps. The problem is a lack of diverse servers and a complete lack of balancing. 90% of games the outcome is predetermined which is what turns people off. Adding maps won't fix the problem. Counter-strike for example had very limited maps but was popular for nearly ten years and some people still play today.

Here is the real problem http://www.wargame-ee.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=160&t=49492

Counter Strike depends on reflexes.
Doing the same thing on the same maps in an RTS is much more boring.

Perhaps that is true but when is the last time you played 'smoke on the water' or a maze in japan' or 'cold war z?' Virtually never I'm guessing. The maps are there, it's just that nobody hosts games with them.

We host ourselves and play all but the Naval Maps.
(Riverboats would be ok, but everything bigger is too distracting.)

Still we would definitely like more smaller maps...

I would be in full support of adding maps where the two sides have different starting places (I.e. amphious invasions).

+1. New maps are a need.

However, balanced new maps would be a godsend (+ new spectator mode only enabled by the host, for mostly tournaments).
