I think some 1-player scenarios/challenges would be fun

As in, a scenario where you have a limited number of forces, and you're tasked with completing some kind of objective, such as defending a town or destroying a target. Sort of like the tutorials from ALB.

Basically the whole single player from EE would be nice.

Played it while I was on vacation, vastly superior to ALB and RD campaigns.

Still has its problems on a few missions, but the AI isn't completely retarded once it's given actual goals and presents a challenge without going completely overboard.

This sooo much !
It would be sooo awesome to conquer SK with NK in an EE-styled campaign.

What's different about the EE campaign that makes it so superior?

The maps are not limited to exclusively holding out against endless hordes of units by using crap units yourself?

Anyone want to provide a non-cynical reply?

I liked how as a German General you needed to defend a sector. I needed 3 times to finally win this. RDcampaign is boring. Dynmaic campaigns are nothing for me. It’s like Half Life 2. This is the best story based game. No new ga.e has replaced this feel, atmosphere,...

The reply you got was substantively correct. The problem with ALB's Campaign, and to a greater extent RD's Campaign, is you're basically holding out against endless waves of enemies on the same few maps. It's repetitive. It's a grind.

With EE there were several campaigns (five or six) and each of these had around five missions. So it was very traditional RTS Single Player, as opposed to a 'Dynamic Campaign'. The cool thing was that each of these missions had its own lead-in with narration, and background on what was happening interspersed with real world Cold War footage - basically like the lead in to each of Red Dragon's campaigns, but before every mission.

The gameplay itself was also superior because you were given clear and defined objectives. So for example one mission you might be trying to hold the line while peace talks are going on.

One mission as USSR had you trying to put down a Polish Rebellion, so you were rushing to get to encircled Polish Loyalists before they were destroyed, and when you got there you added whatever was left to your army and then had to counter attack.

Another mission I remember is you're playing as an encircled US Armored Cavalry Regiment in the opening stages of the war, and NATO is getting their butts kicked and you're trying to break out of the encirclement. Because you're encircled you have no reinforcements, and have to rely on capturing enemy FOBs and Supply Trucks to even keep going because fuel and ammunition is a concern - there are options to divert and rescue German and American units that're also cut off, but doing so risks losing units and fuel/ammunition when both are finite.

Pretty much all of the missions were difficult and challenging, but could be rewarding as you unlocked new units and added to your army. There was persistence of course, so units lost would stay lost, and units vetted up would stay vetted up. Some missions were easy to complete, but difficult to finish with your force intact enough to proceed comfortably in the campaign.

Really great stuff.

I've played 2nd korean war in RD, that's the only campaign I won or even played more than 2 battles for.
Finished it on the 6th turn.
I only got to use K1 tanks once, to shoot at some Infantry transports, not once did I get to fight a real tank battle (those T-90S hordes got disposed in other ways)
Nor did I ever get to use any other high-end non-naval units
