It would be stupid to give an armored deck the option to take out entire towns with indirect fire.

-1 from me, you'll have to use base infantry backed up with fire support from tanks just like the rest of us.

Give it to mech. The task of mech is to take towns and forests from defending motor/para.

Yeah and doctrinally the kind of force responsible for achieving breakthrough and thus likely to be assigned and employ the most thermobaric weaponry. (Considering the USSR's increasing doctrinal reliance upon thermobaric weapons in response to the increasing vulnerability of conventional artillery forces previously responsible for the volume of fires necessary to achieve breakthrough).

Definitely should be in mechanized decks. I mean it is infantry based AND USSR doesn't get shock infantry in their mechanized decks IIRC. So IMO it would be a good choice in mech decks.
Disagreeing on armored decks, armored deck should be there to fight tanks and vehicles, not to kill infantry in towns/woods.

Exactly. Mechanized is a breakthrough deck. In soviet doctrine, the breakthrough was expected to be carried out by BMP regiments with assault engineer, chemical troops, and massive artillery support.

If it's in Mechanized, it should be moved back to vehicles so it receives the vet bonus

Yeah or if nothing else give it price and vet buffs now that it is locked in the support tab....

This thread makes me feel obligated to take and use this thing now.... just to make people miserable.

Nope.

I support the OP's suggestion but if it were to be moved back to the vehicle tab (it won't be) and opened to Mech you could get 2 cards of 2 for 1 activation point each at higher vet. Then the tears would be justified.

Listen PACT fanboys.. If an infantry based spec like mech was to get an anti infantry support weapon like Burratino, then a NATO counterpart must come as well.. Easy mode must come with an equal/opposite easy mode.. eye for an eye sort of..

+1 if W.Germany gets MARS for Armored and US gets ATACMS for Mech..
-9000 if not, y'all don't seem to understand how game breaking your suggestion is..

NATO already has counterparts in the form of M728 CEV/AVRE and better iron bombers.... not to mention a better selection of mortars across the board. Asymmetrical balance sure is a pain when it bites westward isn't it!

Well, yes, obviously. Support-only units are kinda dumb (as is the specialization in general) and should be opened up.
