A Question to MadMat

Postby N7-Talon » Wed 15 Apr 2015 05:44

So there probably won't be another patch/add-on to Red Dragon for the foreseeable future. But at the moment what are some parts of Red Dragon that could be candidates for changes in the future do you think? Any ideas on any likely candidates?

It's MadMat. ;)

For now, we're focused on AoA. There's no telling yet if or if not there will be another patch for RD.
If there is to be one, same kind of stats changes as usual ...

And what about promised maps?
Current ones are total garbage...
There are maybe 3 maps total which are playable in team games

Please do not release AoA during ’exam times’...

And isnt it possible to port ALB map. Or are there too many coppatibility issues?

As mentioned before, their mapping tools are "a pain in the ass to use" (quoting orcbuster), and it is not possible to port over the maps; they will have to be made from scratch.

This has been covered before. Old maps are not compatible with RD and would have to be remade from the bottom up.

Unfortunate but true.

From EE to ALB, there were ways to reuse older map for the new game.

But to allow naval and amphibious movements, the map making system, and pathfinding, had to be redone entirely.
The only thing we can reuse from older maps in RD, are the drafts. :(

That is very unfortunate indeed.
