Anyone else love these units? In my opinion, they are the best recon units in the game in terms of point efficiency.
A very good optics, decently stealthy unit travelling for the low, low price of 15 points. I can always afford to take 2 or 3 at the beginning of the game. Their availability is high too, so losing them doesn't mean much. I spread them out as the game begins, use them to accompany attacks to give vital recon info.
Sometimes I just walk towards enemy positions with them, and find out that they aren't defended after all! They are one of my favorite reasons to play NSWP or West Germany.

Re: Grenzer and BGS
really good units for static surveillance.
But both could get normal instead of militia training as they were trained as normal soldiers.
That would make them faster and more efficient.
Those are actually the only militia recon infantry units ingame.

Yeah militia training seems silly for a recon unit.
Militia recon is still infantry so grenzers and bgs can do static but when you walk in like the op said. If they don't have recon on them you can get close enough to spot without getting spotted yourself. Easier to keep alive than a bdrm unless you keep it wide and hidden.

At least give them a stealth/speed buff.
Other than that, they are extremely good.

15 pts for a 5 man militia team with slow speed and almost non existant fighting ability, OR 20 for a bread and butter 10 man shock recon team with decent AT, speed, and fighting ability. Seems to me you have a unique definition of cost efficiency.

Your standard pinko Commie swine...

I think they are 10 points w/o transport? But yeah, apart from sitting and watching silently, they are useless. Seldom would I dedicate a precious recon slot to these guys.

They are 10 points. For 15 points you can get a very good optics scout with good stealth and a 150 km/h transport. This IS cost efficient. Also you get much more per card and can spam them all over the map.
