Fixing Destruction

Postby QUAD » Thu 30 Apr 2015 05:32

When a unit dies in or over a friendly zone, it's price is added to a now displayed value in the zone. Capturing this zone from the enemy grants a refund of destruction points equal to that value. If a zone is neutral, the number remains.

I attack Foxtrot with a 800 point force, the enemy has 1200 points in defenses. I kill 450, lose 600 points worth of units. The enemy evacuates his support assets from the zone and his CV, and I cap the zone with a TACOM I preemptively fly in. Boom, the enemy loses 450 points from his destruction score.

This would allow a lot of risk vs reward in deciding how to defend and attack. Taking heavy casualties for a zone might be worth it if you are heavily compensated for your troubles.

Not a bad idea, limiting it to zones would make stacking units a thing? Availability of bombers is big if you can just buy more after they die over a zone. Because if you have enough some will always get through.

Units dying outside zones are now losses, so I could see it being really minimal recon and defenders. And the odd big Push or helo rush that doesn't quite make it into a zone a big risk  . But still could pay off if you out maneuver/ flank .

This is very bad idea and pointless. Eugen does not make even small stat changes and this would require coding work...

Does this have to be brought up in every thread? Its not breaking news anymore.
