POL2:
#2vs2 Słoneczko Północy
#4vs4 Masa Krytyczna
#1vs1 Piekiełko

Roughly understood as;
# Sunshine of the north (impersonating we all know who)
# Critical Mass (Ostateczne Stopienie is too blunt, literal translation)
# Tiny (cosy) Hell

So both names are related to nuclear weapons or nuclear facility. I think Eugen uses the word 'Sun' for nuclear explosion which is man-made sun. Also, meltadown is also for something like nuclear facility disaster. Thus, we shall give a name that have sort of taste of nuclear. Actually, 主體的太陽 is more accurate. Pun of not does not matter much since there is no pun in English version. However, perhaps it is too long. 爐心融解 is from a vocaloid song and I feel it is a counterpart of the reference and also related to nuke. That's why I pick it.

Please no vocaloid. :(

A literal translation of Sun of Juche would indeed be 主體的太陽, but i think 日 is also sufficient to give the nuke connotation, further it has the pun on the kims.

Also, the literal translation for meltdown is 堆芯熔毁, add in final, I would toss 堆芯 aside to get 最终熔毁.

I'm for 最终熔毁

[EUG]MadMat wrote:Hi,

We are now working on the next set of new maps (two different settings on TMI) and variants to be released.

As for the first pack, we may require help with some translation in Spanish, Italian, German, Korean, Polish, Chinese & Russian.

The two names we wish to translate are those for the two different variants of TMI (more details here):
    (4v4) Sun of Juche
    (4v4) Final Meltdown (reference ;) )
(1v1) Hell in a very small place
, refering to Bernard Fall's book.

So far, I have:

US:
#2vs2 Sun of Juche
#4vs4 Final Meltdown
#1vs1 Hell in a Very Small Place

FR:
#2vs2 L'Aube du Juche
#4vs4 Fusion Finale
#1vs1 Un Coin d'Enfer

SPA:
nothing ... :(

ITA:
#2vs2 Il Sole Di Juche
#4vs4 Fusione Finale
#1vs1 Un Angolo d'Inferno

KOR:
nothing ... :(

POL:
#2vs2 Słońce Juche
#4vs4 Ostateczne Stopienie
#1vs1 Piekło na ziemi

RU:
#2vs2 Светило Чучхе
#4vs4 Последний Кризис
#1vs1 Ад на клочке земли

CHI:
#2vs2 主體的太陽
#4vs4 爭奪三哩島
#1vs1 方寸地獄

JPN:
#2vs2 しゅたいしそうのたいよう
#4vs4 ろしんゆうかい
#1vs1 じごくのいっちょうめ

Houd of Culan already proposed the following translation:

#2vs2 Sol de Juche
#4vs4 Fundido Final
#1vs1 Un Rincón del Infierno

Hello Madmat, these map names are considerably easier to translate into Spanish than the first pack. I've provided the Spanish names highlighted in red.

I'm only missing Korean now ...

I am a bit surprised that nobody bitched about the English localization being called "US"

Also the list does not mention the German translation...but I guess you already have a final version?

Well MadMat, I'd say first one is perfect, second one 4 v 4 is better as "Fusión Final". "Fundido Final" is like google translator copy paste, nobody speaking spanish would use that ever. And i'd change "Un Rincón del Infierno" for "Un Rincón en el Infierno" (but this last one gave me problems trying to figure out how would i say it in Spanish).

By the way i'm Spanish native speaker.

Just trying to help. I think i'll check the other pack ones, in case i can help

Here are the translations in spanish (y mis credenciales son 29 años de hablar español):

(4v4) Sun of Juche - Sol de Juche
(4v4) Final Meltdown - Derretimiento Final

I think we all agree in Sol de Juche. Sincerely, Fusión Final seems the most native translation to me while the other two are the typical translations you can read from no natives, they're more literal. According to Hell in a very small place i'd choose the one I suggested or the previous one, this one is far less epic i think, and again, too literal
