Also the list does not mention the German translation...but I guess you already have a final version?

I can provide a Canadian translation if need be.

In fact I am fluent in 3 languages: American, Canadian, and Real Talk.

[EUG]MadMat wrote:Hi,

We are now working on the next set of new maps (two different settings on TMI) and variants to be released.

As for the first pack, we may require help with some translation in Spanish, Italian, German, Korean, Polish, Chinese & Russian.

The two names we wish to translate are those for the two different variants of TMI (more details here):
    (4v4) Sun of Juche
    (4v4) Final Meltdown (reference ;) )
(1v1) Hell in a very small place
, refering to Bernard Fall's book.

2v2 - 주체의 태양
4v4 - Fukusi...
Nope. 파이널 멜트다운
1v1 - 한 평짜리 생지옥

It was pretty painful to pull out the translation for 4v4 and 1v1 map.
Translating the name of 2v2 was easy, due to read of awar groririous reader.
For 4v4, I thought "최후의 카운트다운" had more of some sort of 'tragic beauty' or whatever, but since it was a parody for Final Countdown, so I just went with "파이널 카운트다운."
1v1 was pain in my a $$. I couldn't decide between "한 평짜리 생지옥" and "한 좁디좁은 생지옥," which forced me into a couple of votes.
And that took me another good 30 minute or so due to lack of ROK wargamers crazy enough to roam internet in 0200 AM.
Anyway, "한 평짜리 생지옥" was the winner of 4-men vote.

Jesas. You can call me a retard if I ever do this again.

JPN:
#2vs2 しゅたいしそうのたいよう(主体思想の太陽) i think "Sun of Juche" means "General Kim".So "いだいなるしょうぐんさま(偉大なる将軍様)The great Generalissimo" is better :D
#4vs4 ろしんゆうかい(炉心融解) good
#1vs1 じごくのいっちょうめ(地獄の一丁目) interesting

Korean-

(4v4) Sun of Juche - 주체의 태양 (from koreanboy123)
(4v4) Final Meltdown - 파이널 멜트다운 (from 통큰)
(1v1) Hell in a very small place - 한 평의 지옥 (from ㅁㄴㅇㄹ호)

Got these from the Korean forum and people seem to agree with them.

28 year old native Spaniard and English-Spanish translator.

"Sol de Juche", "Fusión Final" and "Un Rincón del Infierno" are all good names.

Final Meltdown just doesn´t carry the reference across into Spanish, so going for something functional enough like Fusión Final is fine.

Personally, I would change "Un Rincón del Infierno" one for "Infierno en Miniatura" (In English: Miniature Hell/of Hell, which works fine given the nature and presentation of Wargame as being pretty much the electronic version of old tabletop wargames).

Return to “Wargame : Red Dragon”
