Su-122 was insanely overpowered for its price and was in 100% of any competitive USSR deck. There was not a single USSR deck that did not contain at least one card of these

It was reminiscent of the 9 armor, 25 point Centurions back in the good ol' days in terms of performance vs price

A 5 HE HEAT gun, along with a KE KPVT that worked wonders for popping transports, all for 15 points? Hell no

It's the only vehicle in the game other than like the CEV and BMPT/BMP3 to get a 5 HE gun, yet for a fraction of the price. A 150mm gun on the Sheridan only gets 4 HE

It is still insanely good as a fire support vehicle; and arguably still the best FSV available

At least the magical 5HE lives on

You still need cost effective fire support as a USSR player to deal with 10pt MG3 spam. Now there is one rather than 2 options for that role at 20 points the SU122 looks to me like poor value for money, is it really twice as good as the ASU85 or the M36? I think you'll find the answer to that question is not bloody likely if you compare the damage output and survivability for the same investment of points.

I kind of feel a nerf to say 4he and keep it at 15 points is one of the more reasonable suggestions i've seen.
I hope your buratino's die screaming.

IMO there shouldn't be fire support units below 15pt. M36, ASU et simila should be 15pt.

I kind of agree although that would eliminate the only thing that really sets it apart since many Soviet tanks have 4 HE.

Given how people have taken to using the ASU-85 instead, I wouldn't say it was the HE value that made the SU-122 stand out since the ASU-85 only has a HE value of 3. FSVs have a place because they are cheap and expendable. A Soviet tank can do a good job shooting infantry, but it's not always worth exposing an expensive tank to the risk of being visible while it chews through some cheap infantry and light vehicles. Whereas a 15-point vehicle can expose it's cannon in full glory knowing that an AGM plane won't come and kill it.

At least the Soviets have a choice between the ASU-85 and SU-122. I envy even the ASU-85 when I'm playing non-Soviet decks, what with it's 1925m range for 10pts.

20pts SU-122 was a mistake I believe. It doesn't cost its price.

The CEV/AVRE nerf was pretty big though.
