I just hope Eugen won't turn into Eugenoxx.

I I bought this right away. Although it only contains few new 3D designs, and the rest are reskinned units. I got it to support Eugen for hopefully WG4 to come. More paid nations DLC will keep this game alive and relevant until WG4.

Agreed

A. As far as comparable DLC it's quite cheap (put away your pitchforks, this is nowhere near CoH 2 levels of nickle and diming for DLC) for the cost of 1 1/2 lattes or a six pack of beer you are getting a cool NATO faction and putting in a vote for the continued viability of the wargame series. Not just some cool vehicle skin or "doctrine".

B. Its actually a pretty decent amount of content and quite interesting and fun to use for anyone who is into playing out semi historical scenarios with the game.

C. It has come with an additional balance and gameplay patch which by industry standards wasn't really required (they could have just left it as good enough but they're still working at it so if anything throw them a tip for keeping it polished).

D. You may not care about the Netherlands armed forces but this is the litmus test. Do you want Finland/Yugoslavia/Romania/Bulgaria/Israel/South Africa/Italy/Turkey...etc etc etc? Then lets pitch the pittance of $6.00 and see if this is a commercially viable vehicle for moving a more community responsive wargame forward.

E. Perhaps this might encourage them the resources to develop a set of community modding/mapbuilding tools on the side to allow further customization (Some masochist out there probably has a burning need to faithfully mod and play as Angola or North Vietnam).
Projectnordic in game! will likely see you on pact/red dragons/french!

You're totally right.
The pricetag seems a tad high for what it is, but it's not totally overpriced like some DLCs for other games out there. I also just bought it to show my support more than to have it.
Plus, as with all Eugen products, there's a good chance that the DLC will be on sale on steam quite often. Then, the 6€ pricetag will only be for the die hard fans who can't wait the sales.

I thought the same. ☺
Bought the most paradox games include all dlc's.
But since the joke with Hoi3 and the the Eu4 dlc costspam there is no chance for Payadox Interactiv.

See the price for netherland dlc as my fee for all the great free EE, ALB and RD dlc's

I paid those 7€ and I'd pay again for more factions. I don't care if they all use same equipment named differently.

I'd also pay for new single player campaigns. but maybe that's just my obsessive-compulsive disorder talking here now. I've close to 400 hours of single player campaign. Because I just have to make things work better and better every time.

"What do you mean a TOW jeep got destroyed? RESTART"

I think that Angola campaign set in 1980s would be absolutely terrific. Cubans vs south africans. Well this game is the best chance of making any of that happen anyway.

Hello,

please just remember what makes the cost of a DLC, and it's not only unit creation:

1) decision phase (including costly manager hours): decide to do it, choose the number of nations included etc...
2) design the content: decide which units to take + stats
3) réalisation: code the units, icons etc... and include that in the game code. Make a system so that only DLC users can use them.
4) testing
5) DLC package creation
6) quality validation
7) distribution + pub: put package online, communicate with steam and organize the sale
8) provision money / time to create hotfix in case of bug

I think that even with no content at all, a package would be sold around 4€

you know i love this game. but 5.99$ USD for some new units and copy's of current units doesn't fit the cost.. should be 1.99 at most.. is there any NEW maps? nope those are free. i understand they need to make money. AOA was a Failed game so they have to make it up somewhere. but i will not be buying this.. i'm happy with what i got in game. i'll wait for a sale or something to get it for 99 cents or something
