CandyMan wrote:Not sure when the J-711M of China got 4 missiles, but the NK copy sure could use them too. Also, the availability of the J-711M is
6/5/4/0/3
while the F-7b is
5/4/0/3/0

Also,
East German Mig-21ML no longer has trained vet option that it used too. Now it's availability is halved in a national deck.
Dutch has access to 2 transport trucks where everyone else does not. If this is a hint towards a new change it is certainly welcome.

Yeah, the J-7IIM should only have two missiles. The outboard pylons were reserved for fuel tanks.

Or we could give the Red dragons a f-104 analog by letting them keep 4 missiles a piece. ;)

Unless of course now you're going to say every other mig-21 with all its hard points filled with missiles is incorrect and needs to be changed too.

No, just the earlier J-7 family. The first ones had only two pylons, period, because they were based on the MiG_21F (sadly, Eugen missed this opportunity to give the J-7 a more unique model). Later on, two more hardpoints were added on the Chinese model (which diverged from Russian design after the MiG-21F-13 due to the Sino-Soviet split) for fuel tanks to boost range. These hardpoints in much later models, like the J-7C and J-7H (the dates are wrong) could use all hardpoints for weapons.

Putting fuel outboard and munitions inboard seems like a weird choice.

Thought dogma was to put the fuel as inboard as possible because the tank and plumbing are heavy.

Just want to point out that the outer two pylons of J-7IIM are not just for fuel tanks but can also carry aerial bombs or rockets.
