Hey, first time posting here, but have been reading forum for quite a while (especially like the Yugo thread and the work those guys did on the research there).
My question is a pretty simple one and might even be answered somewhere, although I cant find it.
Does it matter if infantry unit gets attacked from a flank or from rear ?
Lets say the unit is already engaging another enemy infantry unit, and at that same time 2nd enemy unit comes from behind and attacks them (that 2nd unit could be infantry, tank or IFV, doesn't matter).
Do they get extra damage or any sort of malice for the fact they are getting flanked/reared ? (Other than obviously getting attacked from 2 units instead of 1)

Re: Question about infantry
There's no difference on whether a infantry unit gets hit on the front or rear or anywhere, so there's no extra damage coming from flank or rear based shooting at it.

WG4 should really improve apon this

Welcome to the forum!
As Sleksa said, there's no flanking with infantry. Right now the infantry acts like an abstracted sort of vehicles without armor.
Btw, feel free to join us in the Yugo thread - the more the merrier. Pop a question at any time

It's a fair abstraction to me. Setting infantry up to face a threat usually involves multiple squads, so the orientation of the "formation" matters for getting flanked even if individual squads' facing doesn't.
Re: Question about infantry
all that being said, if you engage a squad of infantry with infantry, the enemy will use their machine gun so if you engage with armor right after, they won't switch to their rpg until the infantry is dead.
good for keeping your apc/ifv alive in close quarters.
