VDV 90' RPG-29

Postby Lumi » Tue 29 Nov 2016 11:00

Is there any factual evidence of the RPG-29 having been widely distributed (or planned to be) to the VDV? I know they were issued to the Soviet Armed Forces but in limited numbers.. Is it just for balance?

I can only speak to actual adoption but the RPG-29 was never adopted as the RPG-7VR despite having the range of a wet paper towel was compatible with existing launchers and lighter, with the same warhead
NEXT TIME I SEE A DAMN FLAMEWAR INVOLVING DARTH-LAMPSHADE, FROSTPOOKY, LONERIFLE, FADE2GRAY, TROTSKYGRAD AND/OR ANYONE INVOLVED IN A DISCUSSION BETWEEN THEM I'M GOING TO HAND OUT BANS TO ANYONE USING ANYTHING LOOKING REMOTELY LIKE AN AD-HOMINEM

The RPG-29 is a bit too large and bulky to be used in an airborne operation.

I think it was given to the VDV '90 to continue on the long range high AP flavour found on the base VDV (high AP in ALB).

Yeap, wholly unrealistic... So we can easily swap it to RPG-27...

I'm not complaining, i absolutely love VDV 90', my standard infantry unit for the USSR. (Since everything else sucks)

Give VDV the RPG-27 and Morskaya the RPG-29.

Job done.
