Did you guys know the enemy deck codes before-hand? Because that seemed like a really futile effort to stop that amount of tanks and a huge waste of AA at the start. :D

-Few notions: the Soviet decks were too strong compared to the defender, force ratios have been adjusted for v.0.2 for a more balanced setup.
-Deployment phase should last only 5min, recon phase the next 5 min, so that the snowballing doesn't become so prominent from the start.
-Proper briefing of estimated enemy strength and force composition is essential.

Thanks for all the participants regardless, stay tuned for a rerun and a follow-up event.

I'd consider increasing starting points and decreasing point income, as point income favors the soviets far more than the Finns.

From the replay it looked like the Finns ran out of units. Calling in like 10 CVs at once.

Just played it. Was fun but certainly does favour the Soviets. I guess it should favour the soviets considering the time-frame of the scenario, but maybe not so much so that the Fins do have much of a chance of winning the scenario. I played the Fins and they really lacked anything to take on the larger tanks unless they could flank. Also didn't have a clue what was in the Soviet decks until all of the tanks and Artillery became apparent.

Will cast this on the channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClJ1qM ... Y73pjQz3WQ) in a day or so for anyone who is interested and look forward to playing again (maybe as the Soviets this time!).

I don't think the idea is for the soviets to ever lose the scenario (in the sense that they get pushed back to their start zone) but rather that the Finns have to hold the soviets off. The problem is the tank blob steamrolls anything in it's path. I think giving finland some AT helicopters to punish overextension could make the game more interesting.

Yes, it's a delay mission by design, ideally the best the defenders could do is to be saved by the bell.
The AT helicopters could be a good addition, as well as a light adjustment to the income level.

Balancing these things is only really possible by trial and error, but it is clear that a key part of any succesfull defence is the utilization of the the higher mobility of the defending force. Essentially the Finnish side would have to use the recon spread out to the map at the beginning to identify the enemy main axis of attack, and only concentrate the tanks and other AT assets as well as the infantry reserves.

Edit: OP upgraded with short briefings for the Finns and Soviets.
