Without having any idea of programming.
Why not telling telling the game that white/grey is the new green/brown.
That's not how you load textures in most 3D games. The game is 99% certain to automatically load and adjust the colors of skin without any more inputs than were strictly necessary for a nice looking game. The only manipulations it should be doing are things like shaders and lighting, which are optimized for the purpose of adjusting colors to replicate shadows and highlights as quickly as possible with as few resources as it can manage.
It's 99% certain that there is no place for user defined instructions to be inserted into the game. The only way it will exist is either through entirely new functions and skin pipeline ( which will likely take days to 2 weeks /per skin), or an ugly exploit of the current setup that will be buggy, may crash the game, which will take longer than just writing the new code, and will look awful If you're thinking of just fooling the engine into using the shadow shader to paint white when it means green. Code is designed to avoid trash inputs outside of an accepted set of inputs. If you start trying to exploit code to do what it's not intended to do, the risk for crashing the program increases.
