AGL Helos, AH-64A, and Hinds R Us

Postby Seryn » Thu 5 Jan 2017 21:59

Personally, I feel like subjects 1&2 are in a meh spot currently. Subject 3 is the Elephant in the Room.

AGL Helos: One of the Few things actually nerfed with the removal of Anti-helo range removal from AGLs, DPRK and USA took an effectiveness (though it was almost nonexistent for USA) to Infantry Support Helos. Things like the BTR-90 or BTR-T could care LESS because they already have killed the helo by the time AGL is in range. But things like the AH-1J/AH-6C were kinda shoe-horned from obscurity to downright hopeless, though the Burd benefits from being a cost effective anti-infantry chainsaw that you get a ton of, AH-1J was hit hard in its effectiveness, which is bad when comparing it to it's Lolbro. Heavy Hog can still derp anything in sight on the ground (Even Tanks!) however. MAYBE revert The change to certain AGLs?

AH-64A: What is wrong with this Unit? Weeeeell it has variants in non-American nations that are just BETTER because they are specialized, AH-64 TD/PeteN and Escorts come to mind.

My suggestion is this: Give USA 2 Heli Tab Apaches, 1 as a clone to the Dutch Escort (Name: AH-64) and 1 as the Current Apache (AH-64A) to maintain a multirole Apache. This way American Heli tab Apaches will be able to unleash Bullet(rocket)hells while the Lolbro Keeps its Recon exclusive Laserheaven.

Hinds: NK Gunship is ewuivalent to DDR THS Mi-24 Ausf. D, meaning it currently overpriced OR should recieve the Kokon ATGM (if Keldon could find info if the Kokon was fielded by DPRK ITF that would be good or just use the 2KW DLC as an excuse) while the only DDR Hind with the Yak-B (A very good Swivel mounted gun) is the THS Mi-24 Ausf. D, which is a TROOP TRANSPORT. Maybe a Yak-B armed KHS Mi-24 Gunship for E. Germany?

Debate away!

Transport are always discounted, so the NK Mi-25 being more expensive is not a mistake. It is actually the cheapest HEL tab Mi-24/25 available.

On other hand Mi-24/25 was never used by NK anyway...

I understand the price, but it's still OVERpriced because the Fleyta is Dragon I tier bad (compared to other Attack Gunship ATGMs)

That's the same thing as with Yugo Mi-8 HE support heli, more expensive than normal Mi-17/Mi-8MTV.

To the Apache debate, you can just use the 45 pt Cobra for raining rocketpods. It's not bad for it's price if you have an airborne deck or your strategy really needs such unit. I don't understand why you think that other variants are better than US Apache - having 8 more SA missiles instead of rocketpods is hardly an advantage.
Sometimes I wish my country wasn't included in the beginning, but coming as a paid DLC...

you have armour and more hit points with an Apache, not to mention a usable autocannon.
still,i`d prefer the Tzefa gunship.

The recon cobra's AGL has always been poor compared to an autocannon, you buy it for the optics and the rockets. It wasn't much of a nerf.

Mi-25 is well priced, it's a big threat to flanks without AA and on top of that it has 30-70 odds of killing a solitary AA piece. Gunships are just bad in bigger games where every flank has a tunguska.

Good luck killing anything with s-5 rockets and flyeta atgm. The only reason to field a mi-25 is to delete infantry with the yak-b.

I dont get any of what u said....

After the price buff the apache 'a' is now best cas unit. The ah6 is one of the best cheap anti inf units but should be made available to delta's.

The longbow got cut from my deck since the 2 fire salvo nerf (wasting 2 hellfire on mostly 15pt transport annoys me).

Its the dap that now needs attention... losing the cobra when it was finally viable at 100pts leaves the anti helo duty squarly on DAP's shoulders of which it will always suck due to stingers but at the same time replacing them for hellfire or hydras isnt needed either....
