would be worth a try to break down helicopter movement into two categories.
1. low flight mode with option for pop out attacks and much less speed. Altitued changes according to terrain and stuff.
2. high speed flight mode (normal chopper speed in WG), at higher altitudes.
Allow planes to one hit kill high flying choppers, because plane speed + mach 3 missile vs almost stationary target.
Make it very difficult to target low flying choppers, but this way players have more reaction time vs helo rushes.

no more WG *gives red haired step child potat and slams door*
so maybe this can be done with mods

Shouldn't helicopters be a LOT faster than they are currently at high attitude ?

no, they are allready flying at max speed, which depends on mass carried, surfaces with high air resistance like externaly mounted pods and so on.

vehicles are too fast and infantry is a tour de france easter egg.
but tank and infnatry rushes are less of a ragequitting problem.

If we seperate helicopters into combat, I want my helo to fly in fast in my controled airspace, slow down, shoot and survive, mode and rush for the spawn whatever it takes mode, we might solve helo rushes forever.

Let transport helos descend some time before troop disembark, so they don't get shot down as easily.

One problem that choppers have is that they still do that little dance to stop and fire. Another is that they are all out ranged by AA.
