Or at least a discussion of it.
Eugen is unable or willing to patch RD. But its not the end of the game. If you have been playing RTS games for some time you may have heard of ROTWK 2.02 and Zero Hour 1.06. They are effectively community made patches that aims to fully utilise the mechanics and resources of the orphaned game for a balanced and competitive version of the game.
Now ZH and ROTWK were patched by GameReplays.org; hardcore gamers who are aboslutely dedicated to the game, patching a bout a decade after launch. The community there is pretty active and still regularly hold tournaments for a variety of RTS games but not Wargame.(there is a AoA section for some reason though)
Compared to them, I reluctantly say that the Wargame community is either ded(this forum) or memes(reddit) or cancer(WarChat)
But Wargame is still pretty good, and I think its worth looking into with competitions(without DLC) still being held.

Re: The Time has come for a Community Patch
Trying to get together and create the patch log for a final balancing (note: not buffing) patch would be...interesting.
I'd be up for it though.

Re: The Time has come for a Community Patch
The objective of a patch must be made very clear. I think it should be along the lines of any coalition deck and (USSR since they have no coalition) being on the same tier
Specialisations and era can have availability or vet bonus but they are essentially handicapped.

Re: The Time has come for a Community Patch
First step would be to balance out all the DLC nations (granted though, the Dutch hardly need fixing at all). If that succeeds, we can talk about buffs to coalitions like Red Dragons or Blue Dragons to bring them back into the spotlight.

Re: The Time has come for a Community Patch
We had a balance mod, no one plays it and frankly anything that isn't a Eugen patch will just split a community which can't agree on anything much anyway.
I hope your buratino's die screaming.

Re: The Time has come for a Community Patch
Anyone believe this has actually a chance of happening?
Short of someone writing a new client to bypass EUG hosting system, that's not going to work, public games will always remain vanilla (unless player pool drops to a couple dozen people)

Re: The Time has come for a Community Patch
If the community manages to agree on basic changes that fix major balancing issues, without going overboard on fanboyism like the Faustman mod did, we could have a chance of making Eugen move. They would only have to take over the patch log and implement it into the official Steam version for update.
That, though, would require a civilized and goal-oriented discussion about the hot topic of Yugoslav, Finnish and Israeli units as well as coalition balance for Blue/Red Dragons and some minor unit buffs and changes spread along the older coalitions (e.g. SAS ground transport, Roland reload speed, SPW-152 for GDR infantry). Well...hope dies last.

I'm almost certain by now, EUGEN not having made even a single patch in 2017 has nothing to do with them focusing on Steel Dead Division.
Their contract probably expired and there wasn't a renewal.
