Getting appended to Commonwealth is another possibility. Israel would make more sense historically, but having all those new wheeled vehicles beside an Israeli deck might mess up balance.

Be in mind that Israel deserves some hard nerfs. Merkava IIA must be, Spikes must be, Kurnass maybe take a nerf too. And if SA doesn't get too many unicorns, in theory it would be fine.

I do wonder if we're getting a balance patch, its so long overdue I've forgotten half of my complaints
If there's two kinds of players, those that like challenges and those that want a fair game, pubstomps should make everyone happy.

New Discussion Thread for the New South Africa Nation Pack: Let's go!!

It will be the most useless DLC for the WG ever...
Even the YUG, FIN, ISRL were 100% funny and bad.

Instead such crap thing it would be better just for example fix the 105-122 mm arty to make them usable comparing to 100000% OP 120 mm mortars...

It would need only some modeling value changes...

I'm actually looking forward to this, sure balance wise some nation packs were overperforming compared to its peers, yet I like seeing new content for wargame in any way shape or form.

I hope South Africa won't be another fancy prototype meta Deck and somewhat evened out. What I really wonder though... not that we get a new nation, what's up next?

Without prototypes, paper planes, and OOTF (well, assuming '95 *latest* ) South Africa would get BTFO by almost every Red coalition in game.

You can bet with 100% chance that it will be such thing. Just check the 100% funny unicorn units of YUG and FIN to make them usable.

The SAAF force in RL fought in a war where the most advanced thins in '80s were Mirage IIIs and 10-20+ year old Soviet stuff on other side except the Osa-AKM which proved its capabilities. A RL Cat A force of SA would be whatever to same era WPACT force...

Eugen just tries go get easy money with such DLC without any REAL development and changes.
While many issues since the release is still not addressed...

I think they will end up giving some nicely rounded units for a loadout in a faction deck, especially if they have a higher amount per card of regular or light infantry that will make them worth having in a deck, or larger per card light tanks.

Depending on the helicopters and their capabilities (especially in terms of combat with the transports) they might be pretty useful.

Didn't MM already confirm a bunch of protos in the blogpost?

That he did.

Honestly, regardless of whether there are balance patches or not, or whether the DLC is balanced or not, it is nice to see a small revival of the forums and having a lot of familiar faces return. Might be the golden opportunity to get back into WG:RD for myself.

I reinstalled some days ago the RD and I'm surprised that I could find (only for short time) a Cat C 10v10 lobby and so far I could play more C cat games then in total since the release.
