And yeah, it's a good year on the whole; just hope they figure out what went wrong with LM5.

AFAIK it veered off at the final stage when releasing the satellite, shouldn't be that hard to pinpoint and fix. CNSA has a very good record of successful launches.

So, the Beijing national military museum has finally finished some building works, which lasted about 5 years...

It's open to public now with alot of the newer kits sitting around, although rumor says quite alot are just models.

You still in China, Ernest? Maybe you can visit Beijing too. :D

btw. the temperature is horrifying high right now. My relatives are melting despite air conditioner. Shanghai enforced half-day work only in many areas.

best is subjective, and biggest is also difficult to tell. But the "new" museum in Beijing should do. 中国人民革命军事博物馆 is the name and there is the info about the exhibit and most importantly the ticket:

http://www.jb.mil.cn/cgfw/cgzn/

Like i said, alot of newer kits are also there, should be worth the visit.

If you want something more commercial and Disneyland-ish, the Minsk Carrier Themepark in Tianjin should also be available. ;)

Oh, and the temperature is said to be dropping to 36 degree next week, it's almost freezing... almost...

Hopefully our dear friend finds time for the new museum in Beijing; this is said to be one of the exhibits:

rumors exploded from this model. Like, is the J-20 gonna get navalized and such, it also putting on fuel for the flame war between SAC and CAC supporters. It also seems that most of the non-land vehicles are just 1:1 scale models.
