Texturing Tutorial

Postby Vasto » Tue 4 Mar 2014 02:11

Hello guys,

Since many of you were asking how to make textures for the Wargame, and most of available sources were explaining it only with the usage of Photoshop, I decided to make this short tutorial to show how to do the essential steps using some generally available and free software.

Though thing to note. This tutorial doesn’t teach how to become proficient in a graphical stuff. It explains only how to overcome some common issues with the textures files, for those who don’t have Photoshop.

Download Tutorial

Also please forgive me any typos, as this was a real speed writing.

Edit:

A small update to eliminate typos, should be a little bit easier to read.

Does anyone know a good tutorial for this? Most tutorials are about adjusting women in every imaginable way.

For those of us using Photoshop CS "whichever" you can skip the Paint.NET step and go straight to: https://developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-tex ... -photoshop

Und uh, a great place where I once learned photoshop is:

EDIT: Oh If you'd like I can make a guide on how to do it in Photoshop alltho its quite easy and works the same as in Paint.NET / ATI compresenator

When I try to export a texture file from the modding suite it never actually exports the file.

You might want to change the export destination in settings.

I did that but it still isn't exporting the file, it's fine though I figured out a way to modify textures without the modding suite.

I'm having the same problem as you. How did you get around it without using the modding suite?

It works completely fine for me, both by Google search and link from the tutorial.
