But can you change the unit card picture? I don't like the NORFORCE picture(nothing racist).
Or the card of the unit's weapon i.e. F-88 unit card picture is wrong, so is the LAAD Javelin's.

It would be best to have the mod creator update the mod, but it is possible to do it yourself.

You will need the modded NDF and a fresh vanilla NDF. Open the modded NDF in the Modding Suite, search for the items in the list below, and use the top left square button to "Export".

Spoiler : :
everything

campdyn_2nd_korean_war\ndfscriptingforalternative1

campdyn_climbnarodnaia\ndfscripting

campdyn_proto1\ndfscripting
campdyn_proto1\ndfscriptingforalternative1

campdyn_pusan_pocket\ndfscripting
campdyn_pusan_pocket\ndfscriptingforalternative1

Once extracted, open the vanilla NDF, search each one again, and use the square button at the top to "Replace" each with the now extracted modded version. Sometimes this process corrupts the NDF and causes the game to crash, so just try again if that happens, but maybe take it once component at a time before testing. Let me know if you need better instructions

Can you expand on this? I cant figure out how to get the replacement process to work. Every time I try to export and then replace it corrupts the NDF file

I'll run through the instructions in case you are missing something. I also find that "everything" tends to get corrupted and that closing the Modding Suite after steps 2 and 3 helps. If the file gets corrupted then try again.

1) Set your export path so you know where the extracted file ends up. If you already have extracted files, delete those in case there is some issue overwriting them.

2) Find the item you want to extract from your modded NDF, select it, then use the Raw Data > Export button (not the Textures > Export). The extracted file should be in the folder you previously set.

3) Find the same item you want to replace in the Vanilla NDF, select it, then use the Raw Data > Replace button (again, not the Textures one). Select the previously extracted file.

I wrote:I asume here you have some basic knowledge about wargame modding. It's a bit complicated though.
So what you have to do first is find the most recent commncompnents.ppk file. It's inside the ZZ_4. You just look through the version folders starting from the newest until you find the most recent ZZ_4 that contains a commoncomponts.ppk file. You select it, click on "raw data" (the Icon with the man and the trash can in the top right of the modding suite) and then "export". After that, you go to the place where you exported the file to and open it using the modding suite. Inside the commoncomponents, you search for the two flag files you want to replace. For the norweagian ones, it would be flags\normal\nor_flag.tgv (the size is 80x48) and flags\long\nor_flag.tgv (the size is 121x36). The files you want to import (in your case the bosnian one) need to have the same size as the ones you are replacing! They need to be saved as .dds files, using A8R8G8B8 as the alpha setting. Once you have your images saved in the proper size and format, you replace them in your exported commoncomponents.ppk file. You select the norwegian flag files, click on "textures" (the icon that looks like a stamp) and replace, selecting the files you made. After that, you replace the commoncomponets.ppk with your altered one in the ZZ_4 in the same way. When you start the game now, the flags should be changed.

One more thing: by importing your pictures, the colours get kind of messed up. I don't really know the system behind that, you just have to look at how your flags look in the game and change colours on them until you have them looking like you want them to look. In my case, for the Russian flag, I had to change the blue and the red part on my image, you could try by just exchanging blue and yellow. Otherwise, export existing flags that contain yellow and/or blue and look how the colours are displayed on them.

That's it, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask :) You probably won't understand alot of this until you try it out, but I think much of this is quite logical once you did it yourself

This worked for me, except that you need to save .dds file as A8B8G8R8, not A8R8G8B8!

Hi, Could I have some help with modding flags into the game. I've followed this guide to the letter, using version 0.9 of the modding suite however, whenever I attempt to view the flag in-game it immediately crashes.

I am gonna throw this out there just cause Im a huge fan of this game, and now since Eugen announced a new DLC and the recent update, I have to start again from scratch to MOD this game to the way I like it.

I have a shopping list of things I'd like to do/change in this game. I'm not a very good modder, my knowledge is basic, just able to change quantities of units - increase deck sizes - helicopter altitudes - weapons range etc, elementary stuff. For the more complex modifications, its takes me so much time to figure things out and countless questioning coming back the asking for direction on almost anything. The changes I want to do would take minutes for some of you but days for me, maybe even weeks. Like creating a new weapon - or changing loadouts or making a Anti Ship missile launcher fire on land. I am a believer if anyone is good at what they do, offer an incentive or reward them for their knowledge and skill.

If anyone is interested in helping me out I will make a donation of $200 Canadian Dollars in their name, to a charity that I currently donate too. They do such great work. Its called "The Global Schoolhouse Initiative" it is a charity that provides emergency education to displaced people all around the world at no cost. http://www.theglobalschoolhouse.org Please check out the youtube videos posted below.

https://youtu.be/83hUnp9wGmg

Or I can email money transfer $100 CDN and you can do what you like with the money. Message me privately or reply here. But once this DLC is released I will redo the MOD I've spent so much time creating.

Some of the things I want to do are:

- Make SEAD missiles vulnerable from Tunguska like vehicles + TOR - (All Nations) - show me how to change the damage points SEAD missile so I can tweak.
- Make the AI more difficult to play against - (All Nations)
- Make all Anti-Ship Missile launchers be able to fire of Land. - (All Nations)
- Make Sea Based Missiles fire on Land targets from great distances + Vulnerable to AA - (All Nations)
- Increase Airplane Altitudes - (All Nations)
- Increase Helicopter Altitudes - (All Nations)
- Make the AI use spawn Naval assets in mixed land and sea skirmish battles
- Remove Battle Timers
- Remove Campaign Timers or make them way longer
- Modify Aircraft loadouts - 15 Planes Max
- Modify some vehicles to Jam Radar - protection from SEAD - Some MODS out there have this option, I'd like 1 unit per nation to be able to Jam Radar.
- Unlock more maps or import more maps if there is any..
- Make some aircraft harder to shoot down - ie Night Hawk - F15 - SU-27PU - Euro Fighter
- BAL missile to fire more like a cruise missile - Arch + Vulnerable to AA
- Make AI in skirmish to produce alot of resources by increasing their production rates
- Make the Destruction goal to be at the highest number. I like my battles to last days. :D

I may add a few other things but nothing major. the rest I can change on my own - the simpler stuff. If anyone is interested in helping me out. I would really really appreciate the help. I know ALOT of you would offer help at no cost just cause this community of people are so great and descent. But, like I said I'm a huge fan of this game. With 3 young kids and a crazy wife, this game is my beach sometimes.

So you wanna help me out you can reach me direct at omarnajjar80@hotmail.com, my name is Omar :)

Thank you all for your time, and support over the years.

Newbie question:
I was trying to make BMP-3's 2A70 an indirect weapon because of how slow its shell flies in real life. The issue is that once I checked "isIndirect" to true, the 2A70's gun won't attack the enemy in range when I manually ordered it to do so. Where did I do wrong?

Indirect fire tag doesn't work with a autoengage in ash and shadows either. I think it is hard coded. You might want to look into the BRITISH fire support tank, I AVRE I think it is called. It has just really bad accuracy I think so it is the same effect but still needs LOS, IND FIRE overrides the need for LOS, so autoengage gets turned off by default.

Also if anyone is playing A&S (or other mods) and having trouble with the Post EPIC store update breaking mods and needing to start over completely, there is a fix. You put the game into BETA mode in Steam, update, and then move the Wargame3.exe from the the version you want into the Game EXE folder.

Here is a detailed explanation I made for Ash and Shadows but will work for you too if you know what you are doing:
