Clearly we must break into eugen's offices.

Sorry, I don't mod, so I may be being ignorant....

Why not find out what programme is used, but it/get access to it , and use it to make maps?

Surely the map programme is just an expensive commercial programme that you or I could buy , with enough cash.
A brilliant plan from the dirtiest euro-hippie: get US players to pay me for a game that I then show them how much their military sucks so I can feel better about being a communist.

Well we also don't know the format the maps are in plus unless we have a mega fan that mods for this game it's unlikely someone would dump hundreds of dollars into making maps plus it likely could take months for a inexpierenced user

The work I personally put into the modding suite as a expert in informatics is worth thousands of dollars.

But actually, I'm not so sure about the 3rd party tool theory.

I'm not sure many people realize that... And especially not Eugen unfortunately ...

Well, now it's clear we can not modify maps with simple tools. But I have a question:

Can we transform a "continental" map in a "littoral" (or riverine) map? My idea is adding two entry routes for all vehicles of naval category (ships, monitors, gunboats, LCMs, naval airplane and helicopters).

I have some examples of maps, now without playable naval vehicles: wonsan harbour, strait to the point, another d-day in paradise. Maybe also Nuclear winter is a good map, although for riverine operations.

Do you have any suggestion to change map status from continental to "littoral"?

Thank you in advance!

Is there no one who can answer? My target is only to be able to use naval assets in some maps, like previous ones see quote).

Woah, what's with the impatience man? (Of course, I shouldn't be talking...)
You can easily change the status of a map in globals.ndf. You can make any map a naval only, or naval and land, or just land. But if you want naval units, you have to make naval spawn zones, unless (wait for it) - you are the cheating ai  )

It is probably only a matter of time before we can maybe get naval reinforcement points in a map. There is a team of hardcore modders trying to crack the code of W:RD maps. Of course, this might just be hard coded, so it is unmodable. In any case, if we even do get that to happen, all the vanilla players will only see the original map with no naval, and it will be a huge desync fest.

Good luck to them. Hope they make it backwards compatible.
