Removing AI buffs

I think that i read somewhere that the AI get buffs depending on the level. Personally i hate this as it tends to mean the ai spams you to death. I was wondering if anyone has found a way to remove these buffs or even alter them. Depending on how hard it would be i may be able to do it myself.

Side-note: i take it with the right implementation it could be used in a multiplier skirmish (vs ai of course)

There are various ways to do that.

In pc\ndf\patchable\gfx\gdconstanteoriginal.ndfbin there are various tunable parameters which affect the AI at different difficulty levels including bonus starting money and percentage extra income. I am currently experimenting with altering these in WAB to try to prevent just this problem.

Best solution is actually to alter the delay of command points universally. This prevents the player spamming too but has a bigger impact on the AI.

The subsequent problem however is that the AI can become too easy so it takes some fiddling with. If I get a configuration I'm happy with I'll upload as a mod but it is pretty straightforward to do yourself if you use the modding tools (huge thanks to everyone who helped develop those - WARGAME would be shelved for me now if it wasn't for those!).

Be careful if you use it in multiplayer - check the rules on using mods online!

Thanks for the reply I did not expect one so detailed and informative. When I next have some time I will see if I can fiddle around a bit. I might upload one if I get a good combination.

One question if I was to say play a game with my friend would he need the moded file or does the host just need it?
