How far could we go with this, realistically?

22 is achievable, IMO. 21 is playing it safe.

Moderna stats how I see it:

22/10/4/4
23AP
8 ROF
65% acc
55% stab.

You could go full 70% on the accuracy, though. It has all the bells and whistles for it. See my thread on the topic.

I feel that 70% should not be handed out like candy, it seems like every tank is getting 70% nowadays when functionally they have very similar same fire control to the M1 or Leopard 2 from 1980 (all the bells and whistles), and those two tanks are sitting at 60% effective.

Anyhow, with T-90S gone from the Norks, why not hand it to NSWP as their superheavy, probably to East Germany since it's "flavor" for vehicles is basically soviets without GLATGMS.

Then the lineup becomes

T-90S - 22FAV + 23 AP + 65%@9RPM. 170 pts
Moderna - 21 FAV + 23 AP + 60%@8 RPM. 160 pts
Twardy - 18 FAV + 22 AP + 60%@9 RPM. 140 pts. Twardy should be roughly comparable to T-72B with Kontakt 1, with better ERA but worse baseline armor.

EFCS-3-72 with TIGS is superior to 1A45 Irtish FCS on T-90.

You do not want to compare it to M1 Abrams or Leo 2 from 1980.
The SEAD never bothered me anyway.

Hi razz, I do have some questions about this mod.

Now i'm no expert in modding, but I am curious about one thing: does modding means no “new” units added? and the results are just some different stat rerolls of existing units? So in the end do we still end up with 1900+ units or could we finally reach 2000? 8-)

Because IIRC infantry in different transport count as more than one unit, then we see the SAS coming in wheels (finally......), is this new or is it that SAS is going to lose some helo transport options ?

Number of Changes Per Coalition
Image

I thought it'd be interesting to keep track of the number and nature of all the changes this mod makes over its development time. It is an interesting statistic to follow, and might also help keep the arguments here a little more civil.

You know, for accountability.

The metric is as follows, every unit/group that is changed is considered one change, how large that change may be, does not matter. They are split into the categories of buffs, rerolls, and nerfs. A reroll takes precedence over buffs and nerfs and will not be counted twice for convenience. Also, combined buffs and nerfs will default to buff unless it's heavily tilted in the other direction.

Spoiler : List :

21 changes
  • 11 buffs (+1 global buff)
  • 10 rerolls

*Grouped RBS 70/90 HE buffs into one change.
**Pnzrgrens count for two at the moment. I'm unsure how to handle infantry variants at the moment.
***I decided to put SEALs and Deltas as rerolls as some people may not actually consider them buffs. If you do, then just swap the numbers.

I'm leaving the banners of upcoming coalitions off so you can enjoy their releases one by one. ;)

Spoiler : 2/2/17 :
Now, I'd emphasize that these are the preliminary changes for the mod, and as such, nothing is final (because they will change, and I will make new iterations of this list to account for that).

I personally don't see anything outright wrong with these numbers. These are merely the first patches for these coalitions, and they will be worked on in the future. Still, I'm a little concerned over how little CMW was looked at. While it's true it's currently a strong coalition, it's quite clear the changes were made with a "meta lineup" in mind. With that in mind, I think much more can be done with CMW, especially in regards to the minors (only one change is to a minor, and that being a spec technicality). For example, converting more cavalry tanks to recon and giving many of the redundantly terrible Canadian and ANZAC recon options a facelift would most certainly benefit the coalition in a healthy manner (the tab is still weak without the benefits of a real throwaway recce helo, meaty AP tank recce, etc).

Spoiler : 2/3/17 :
Eurocorps has gone public now! Nothing much to say about this personally, the changes are mostly realistic, though the current discrepancies can be fixed at a later time. Just don't forget about what you want to change and complain it never happened. It's worth noting that the EC vehicle tab is still a mess of poor options that could be expanded on. Perhaps not every soon to be meta unit must be in the Recon tab to be worth using.

Spoiler : 2/6/17 :
It's been a bit since our last public update, but this is definitely a nice one. NORAD has definitely gotten a lot of nice things going for it now and I'm interested to see what will happen in the future. Of course, there's still much that can be done (Bradley optic buffs for one), but this is definitely a very good start for NORAD.

Spoiler : 2/8/17 :
The Soviets are finally public, and it looks like they have one of the biggest (it's bigly!) change lists. Of course, the changes here are generally smaller than their contemporaries in other coalitions, but you can't say that there was no attention given to the USSR. And as always, this isn't final either. I can affirm that we've been discussing further ways of buffing the USSR, do not worry.

It was Polish made at PCO and developed by Zbigniew Puzewicz.

So I expect accuracy of the PT-91 to be nerfed to 20%.

Coal143 wrote:As previously mentioned, extending the timeline is not a huge deal to get in a few units that would help coalitions out. In a WW3 scenario in which the USSR doesn't collapse, It doesn't seem too far fetched that the Sŏn'gun would be available sooner. Let me remind you that we are playing a game in which the cold war goes hot, the entire game is fantastical.

Thank you, I think you can understand what we wanted to achieve with the changes we put forth, if the Moderna can fill the role we wanted Twardy to, that's fine with us.

Despite some aspects of Red Dragon which I am very sceptical about (Zhanshi '85 with CQC MG, Renamed to Tanke Shashou ‘95, cluster JH-7), the other nation overhauls are turning out really nicely. Pleasantly surprised by GDR BMP-3, Polish autoloaders getting some special treatment and M2 Wilk being removed from mechanized.

Any chance we will see a GDR Mi-28 with Kokon-M and 122mm pods?

Also interested to see how you tweak NORAD and Israel (don't hurt my Pereh please!)
